ABSTRACT
Where there is suspicion of drug or alcohol dependency, check mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and toxicology screening may be added.
Special tests for selected cases should only be carried out if the history and physical examination warrants it. These tests include:
● VDRL (Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) ● Hepatitis B, hepatitis C ● HIV (human immunodeficiency virus).
