ABSTRACT
Neutropenia is defined as an absolute neutrophil count < 1 × 109/l, and fever as a temperature > 38.5ºC for 4 h or a single fever spike to 39ºC. However any unwell child who is receiving or recovering from chemotherapy should be considered to be immunocompromised.
