ABSTRACT
Much of the data used in remote sensing exists and is used in the form of images, each image containing a very great deal of information. Image processing involves the manipulation of images and is used to:
• Extract information • Emphasize or de-emphasize certain aspects of the information
contained in the image • Perform statistical or other analyses to extract nonimage information.
