ABSTRACT
Asthma is a well-characterized immune response that targets the lung. Our understanding of the condition has evolved from the simple manifestations of airway reactivity with cough, wheezing, and shortness of breath to the present awareness of asthma as one of a growing number of inammatory conditions that are at the interface of genetics and environmental inuences.
