ABSTRACT
A liver detoxies potentially harmful foreign substances and endogenous metabolic by-products. Failure to detoxify harms the liver and human host. Historically, the focus on liver disease management has been reducing the toxic burden where possible. More recent research points to biochemical individuality in response to the same toxin burden.
