ABSTRACT
Information is entered into the imaging department’s computer system when a patient is registered to have a procedure performed. The RIS/HIS system assists in matching the entry in various tables that contain different codes and other information. This information is passed electronically to the billing department, which in turn transmits to the various payers (insurance companies, etc.).
