ABSTRACT
Section I of this book provides an introduction to and setting in context of the interrelationship between environmental law and the energy sector. It is concerned with the international regulation of energy activities. In particular, it considers the general principles of jurisdiction and control that states may exercise over their territory and their nationals, both natural and legal entities, including companies carrying out energy activities.
