ABSTRACT

Food industries utilize large quantities of water for every ton of raw material that they process. Some industries are within the municipal water reticulation system, so they will get treated water from a plant. Such municipal water supply treatment plants include facilities for storage, treatment, transmission, and pressurized distribution. The specific facility will be designed to treat the particular water. The design is also influenced by the quality of the water, the particular needs of the user or consumer, and the quantities of water that must be processed.
