ABSTRACT
The congressional purpose was to ensure the citizenship of the newly emancipated African slaves. Citizens by default, such as children of illegal aliens, are viewed by many to be citizens of a lesser god. The Federal Bureau of Investigation attempted and failed to build a case against him for a month, and one day before Abu Zubaydah was to be released under laws protecting US citizens against indefinite detention, President Bush approved Padilla’s reclassification as an enemy combatant. The Justice Department charged Padilla on crimes entirely unrelated to the original alleged crime: planning a possible nuclear attack on a major city. Attorney Turley maintained that one of the twelve trials for war crimes involved sixteen German jurists and lawyers, nine of whom were officials of the Reich Ministry of Justice, and the others prosecutors and judges of the Special Courts and People’s Courts of Nazi Germany.
