Examples of modern plasma technologies Any discovery eventually finds practical application and creates a new product. However, the transition from discovery to application is usually not simple. A good example is the transition from the magnetic needle deflection discovered by Oersted when a current flows in a conductor situated next to electric motors of different scales, including motors for rolling mills, electric trains and electric razors.
