Mitral Valve Repair

It is helpful for the echocardiographer to have a cursory understanding of the techniques of mitral repair, to collect all of the information that will be needed by the cardiac surgeon. Carpentier and Duran have developed most of the techniques used in mitral valve repair, with some modifications by other institutions.1-25

For this short review, the techniques of Carpentier will be highlighted.
