ABSTRACT

Unfortunately for individuals who suer from TMJ disorders, or TMDs, activities such as these can become dicult or even impossible due the pain and/or limited range of motion associated with the disorder. Speaking in a global context, there are numerous types of TMDs, each of which requires a treatment strategy tailored to the patient and the specic nature of their TMD (Tanaka et al. 2008). In many cases, TMDs are best managed, at least initially, by conservative therapy, although in some cases are best managed surgically.
