ABSTRACT
The unconventional morphology and growth characteristics of mycoplasmas have necessarily led to their historical understudy. Given the status of unusual bacteria and the ability to elude filtration processes, these microbes have disinterested the classical bacteriologist and never fully excited the virologist. Almost a century after their initial discovery, mycoplasmology continues to be seen as a difficult area by many. .
