ABSTRACT

Climate change is expected to lead to substantial changes in many agricultural production systems around the world (IPCC, 2007). While some areas, particularly in temperate latitudes, are expected to benet and see an increase in agricultural production, many tropical areas are expected to see signicant decreases in the production potential of a number of major crop and livestock species. Although these changes may not, overall, affect the global food supply (Tubiello et al., 2007), they will obviously have major regional, national, and local impacts and result in substantial changes in many production systems around the world.
