1. INTRODUCTION

Anesthetic techniques for filtration surgery have evolved over the years. Table 3.1 shows

this evolution. Selection of the appropriate anesthetic method for glaucoma surgery

depends on the pre-operative assessment of the patient, surgeon’s technique, and the com-

plexity of the surgical procedure.
