The search for an ideal tissue adhesive may date back 4000 years (1). The perfect

tissue glue would find tremendous applications ranging from simple wound

closure to achieving hemostasis. Such an agent would not only improve results

of surgery but would also reduce costs by improving morbidity and mortality.
