ABSTRACT

Lateral epicondylar pain or epicondylitis refers to pain localized to the lateral epicondyle in which some movements (e.g., turning a doorknob and pouring a drink) are very painful or even impossible if the disorder is severe. It is often called “tennis elbow,” since it is common among tennis players. Workers whose jobs require repetitive pronation and supination (e.g., using a screw driver) are often affected, as are people who are neither athletes nor manual laborers.
