ABSTRACT
The patient complains of pain localized to the medial knee, which increases with walking and prevents running. Sometimes a real blockage limits the total extension of the leg, simulating a blockage of the meniscus, which (amazingly) can yield immediately after a lumbar manipulation. Injection of local anesthetic into the trigger point of the vastus medialis can have the same effect, but is often transient.
