1. Until delivery of large amounts of medical supplies from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) and other state emergency agencies, hospitals should be prepared to treat mass casualties for 4 to 24 hours using in-house inventory and/or supplies rapidly procurable from other institutions and pharmaceutical suppliers.
