ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the principles of interventional cardiology including the indications for percutaneous revascularization (PCI), risk stratification of PCI patients, and complications associated with PCI. Separate chapters are devoted to diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary physiology, coronary stents, endomyocardial biopsy,PCI in acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, high-risk PCI and PCI in bypass grafts.
