ABSTRACT

I. INTRODUCTION Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) commonly encountered in clinical medicine today are broadly categorized into predictable and unpredictable reactions (Table I) (1). Predictable reactions are generally dose dependent, are related to the known phannacological actions of the drug, and occur in otherwise nonnal individuals. Unpredictable reactions are usually dose independent, are not related to the known pharmacological actions of the drug, and occur only in susceptible individuals.
