ABSTRACT
The first objective for any team developing an information systems (IS) strategy for a pharmaceutical organization must be to define the business operation and the impact of Good Practice regulations on those operations. The definition of the business operation may already be well established and documented, or there may be a need to embark on a complex Business Process Reengineering (BPR) exercise in order to establish the drivers, purpose and processes of the business before considering an IS strategy.
