ABSTRACT
For the past 40 years clomiphene citrate (CC) has been the first line of treatment for those with absent or irregular ovulation but who have normal basal levels of endogenous estradiol and hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction. The underlying cause of this type of ovulatory dysfunction is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in a large majority of cases.
