This chapter concentrates on: 1) defining the criteria for the diagnosis of PIN; 2) discussing the evidence for its precursor status; 3) elucidating the difference between low-grade PIN (LGPIN) and high-grade PIN (HGPIN); 4) explaining the significance of these lesions in terms of clinical management.
