There are many reasons why people have their skin tattooed; a significant number will subsequently request removal when personal attitudes and circumstances change. Tattoos are usually classified as:
• Professional tattoos-there is uniform placement of pigment into the dermis. Modern tattoos can be bright/fluorescent, metallic or multicoloured.
