ABSTRACT
Since 1924, a Border Patrol office has been responsible for making our territorial lines secure, but much has changed since the early days of border protection . In the 1980s, Americans became very familiar with the wave after wave of illegal immigrants coming across the porous lines of defense . Millions of Mexican and Third World immigrants trekked across without much resistance .
