ABSTRACT

The World Wide Web concept originated with Tim Berners-Lee at CERN, the Conseil Europe´ene pour la Recherche Nucle´aire in Geneva. The main idea was to create a hyper-text language that took advantage of the Internet. The development of the Mosaic web browser at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) in the early 1990’s provided a simple user interface for the web.
