ABSTRACT

History A 35-year-old female presented to her GP with headache. He found nothing significant apart from a history of recurrent urinary tract infections and an elevated blood pressure (BP) of 185/99 mmHg. Her body mass index (BMI) was 25. He arranged for further measurements of BP, a mid-stream urine (MSU) sample for urinary infection and blood for electrolytes in view of possible renal failure.
