ABSTRACT
History A 17-year-old female, a known insulin-dependent diabetic for nine years, presented in A&E with a headache and vomiting. She had been on antibiotics for the past few days for an ‘ear infection’. There was no evidence of neck stiffness, but tenderness behind her right ear.
