ABSTRACT

History A 56-year-old lady presented with a three-month history of difficulty swallowing which is non-progressive. She cannot identify any triggering factors, but notes the dysphagia is to solids more than liquids. She has had a few episodes of vomiting and reflux with reduced appetite and weight. She notes also a one-month history of intermittent bouts of central chest pain worse after food and notes a 2-week history of cough at night, which is non-productive but worsening. She has no other history of note.
