David Foster is a 54-year-old company director with a medical history of hypertension, for which he takes a calcium channel blocker – amlodipine 10 mg OD. His hypertension has been well controlled for several years and the last blood pressure (BP) reading when he saw the nurse 2 days ago was 128/80 mmHg.
