ABSTRACT
Chronic retention presenting with a UTI or secondary renal failure (which may present non-gynaecologically e.g. acute confusional state). This is usually as a consequence of urethral kinking/obstruction but may rarely (in gross prolapse) be due to bilateral ureteric obstruction.
