ABSTRACT
HLA-B27 tissue type has a strong association with spondyloarthritides. It is a risk factor for development any of the spondyloarthritides, particularly ankylosing spondylitis. Note that rheumatoid arthritis is associated with a dierent histocompatibility antigen, HLA-DR4.
