ABSTRACT

Non-marine evaporites are also typically dominated by halite, gypsum and anhydrite, although a wider range of minor salts do occur. This is because the chemical compositions of the original waters vary considerably according to the composition of the rocks with which they interact. Such non-marine evaporites include trona, mirabilite, glauber - ite, borax, epsomite, thenardite, gaylussite and bloedite (Table 11.1).
