ABSTRACT
Major advancements in the care of critically ill animals have been made through improvements in diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring techniques. Successful recovery of many patients depends on careful monitoring and attentive adjustments to therapeutic measures. In some patients, recognizing changing trends of particular parameters, rather than simply the actual values, are more useful in evaluating improving or deteriorating status. Another essential aspect of critical care is effective communication among caregivers. The importance of cohesive cooperation among doctors and technicians cannot be overly emphasized.
