ABSTRACT
Adsorption of proteins at solid interfaces is involved in thrombosis, artificial organ failure, plaque formation, fouling of contact lenses and heat exchangers, ultrafil tration, and membrane filtration units. On the other hand, controlled protein deposi tion on various surfaces is a prerequisite of their efficient separation and purification by chromatography, filtration, biosensing, bioreactors, immunological assays, and so on.
