ABSTRACT
Bergamot is the fruit of the bergamot tree, which is most common to the Calabrian region of the southern part of Italy. It has been cultivated since the Middle Ages. The tree is probably a hybrid between the lemon (Citrus limon) and bigaradier trees (Citrus aurantium).
