ABSTRACT
A ubiquitous epidemiologic technique is the estimation of survival by the life table, and the method will be described with a Bayesian approach. Life tables play an important role in many areas, including estimating survival in clinical trials and screening tests, estimating survival for use in the insurance industry, and measuring survival for use of pension funds.
