ABSTRACT

Tim Berners Lee, the father of WWW, realized the inadequacies of current web technologies and subsequently strived to make the web more intelligent. His goal was to have a web that would essentially alleviate humans from the burden of having to integrate disparate information sources as well as to carry out extensive searches. He then came to the conclusion that one needs machine-understandable web pages and the use of ontologies for information integration. is resulted in the notion of the semantic web [LEE01]. e WS that take advantage of semantic web technologies are semantic web services.
