ABSTRACT

The first three chapters of this book provided a general overview of mass spectrometry, including information on the structure and function of the components of instruments and how they are combined into instrument systems, as well as of the analytical techniques/strategies available and the types of data generated. This chapter includes brief descriptions of 13 published papers that (although they may appear to be arbitrarily selected) were chosen to provide examples of the diversity (breadth) of mass spectrometry and the wide variety of applications. Some of the papers are straightforward; others are much more complicated. Readers are encouraged to read the original articles.
