ABSTRACT
Since hemicelluloses are present under various forms in all green plants and since lignin is present under various forms only in vascular plants, [1] it may be useful to show first a general classification of green plants based on the Tree of Life Web Project [2] (Figure 6.1), and then a more detailed classification of some selected angiosperms which we shall meet in this book and particularly in this chapter (Figure 6.2). Angiosperms, or flowering plants, are the largest group of plants.
