ABSTRACT

Published standards are necessary for worldwide trading, business practices, production of goods, manufacturing, scientiŸc investigations, and research and development. œey ensure consistency in implementation and interpenetration of di¥erent technologies in di¥erent organizations and sectors. Because of the national and international implications, there are many institutions that are responsible for developing, investigating, and maintaining the relevant standards to support worldwide scientiŸc, commercial, and industrial activities. In this chapter, the published standards relevant to the instruments, instrumentation, and measurements will be explained in detail.
