ABSTRACT

A British television show featuring a magician carried an episode where the magician claimed to have a system for picking the winning horses at the racetrack. The show focused on a woman who received the magician’s picks for the winning horses in each of five races. All five horses the magician picked for her did go on to win their respective races. The predictions were made at least 24 hours in advance of each race and the five races were spread over the course of a month. After receiving these tips, the woman was convinced that the magician could pick the winning horses at the track and was ready to bet all her money and money that her friends and relatives had loaned her on the next horse the magician picked to win its race.
