ABSTRACT

The human resources department plays an important role in the prevention of industrial espionage. One of the best methods of counterespionage is to utilize the human resources department to establish position descriptions, work policies and conduct an effective screening process to reduce the risk of industrial espionage from internal threats.

The HR role begins with the writing of the position description that clarifies each employee’s duties. As part of the position description, it will set forth which positions in the organization will have access to company-protected information.
