ABSTRACT

The rules of gene symbolization were adapted from the International Rules of Genetic Nomenclature, the recommended rules in wheat (McIntosh et  al. 2008), the Recommendation of the First International Workshop on Rye Chromosome Nomenclature and Homoeology Relationships (Sybenga 1983), the Third Workshop of Rye Genetics and Cytogenetics: Revision and Completion of the Genetic Map of Rye (Melz and Sybenga 1994), and the International Symposium on Rye Breeding and Genetics (Schlegel and Korzun 2007):

1. In naming hereditary factors, the use of languages of higher internationality is given preference.
