ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the solar terminator (ST) is shown to be used as a natural source of energy radiation. Usually, the ST is defined as the boundary between

“lightness” and “darkness” occurring during the Earth’s rotation around the Sun. Thus, for each longitudinal region on Earth, the dynamics of this boundary (called sunrise and sunset) leads to changes in the ionospheric plasma content and in redistribution of ionospheric layers, from D to F, which, finally, leads to plasma density disturbances of varying degrees in the ionosphere. The ST differs from other natural sources by its regular appearance, precise accuracy of prediction of the time of its occurrence, and essential energy “hidden” in the ionosphere [2-4].
