ABSTRACT

Access and Deck Access are event-detection tools that measure the intervisibility between STK Objects. Although objects have spatial definition and orientation, they do not form relationships to evaluate distances, line of sight, or signal communications. Tools evaluate these relationships. Access and Deck Access evaluate these relationships by validating if a detected connection can be made between the objects. From a spatial geometric perspective, either Access or Deck Access may be calculated from any STK Object, including a facility, target, vehicle, area target, signal device, or central body. The Access algorithm is used as the underlying structure for many STK Tools; therefore, it is the most important and basic ontological relationship to understand.
