ABSTRACT

Chain relationships define the distance, duration, and elevation angle for each Access interval quantitatively. Much like the Access tool, Chains (see Figure 15.2) also evaluate signal relationships qualitatively. This means that the forms of ontology consider the relationship as a part where each segment is evaluated from the definitions of each STK Object to the definition of the Access or Signal. In addition, the ontological evaluation of the relationship as a whole Chain is evaluated, considering that in order for the Chain to be valid, every leg, or strand, within the multihop evaluation requires that each part has a true intervisibility relationship. The strands of Access are then overlapped and validated for complete Access from the beginning STK Object node of the Chain to the terminal STK Object node.
