ABSTRACT
Over the last 40 years or so, the semiconductor industry has
developed manufacturing processes and equipment suitable for
the batch processing of silicon. These semiconductor techniques
have produced devices of increasing miniaturisation and increasing
performance, all at a greatly reduced cost (Levinson, 2011).
