ABSTRACT

According to popular denition, lipophilicity is a characteristic of a substance that is much more easily soluble in lipids than in water. However, that is a very simplied description of fundamental physicochemical property of compound traditionally used in quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR), quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR), and quantitative structureproperty relationship (QSPR) studies and in drug and pesticide design as well as in toxicology studies either in the pharmaceutical or environmental sciences.
